What we publish

Posts that help someone finish a project

Our readers are store owners, developers and marketers who want to get something done. The best guest posts read like a colleague showing them how.

  • Hands-on and specific

Real steps, code, settings and screenshots that readers can follow on their own store or project.

  • Built on experience

Something you have done yourself: a migration, a fix, an extension, a campaign. Share what worked and what didn’t.

  • New to our readers

A topic we haven’t covered yet, or a much better or more current take on one we have. Search the blog before you pitch.

Topics
  • OpenCart development
  • eCommerce and store growth
  • WordPress and other CMSs
  • SEO and site speed
  • Marketing automation and ads
  • AI for developers and marketers
  • Other web development
Guidelines

Before you pitch

We read every pitch, and these guidelines are how we decide. Following them is the quickest way to a yes.

Your post should

  • Be original and not published anywhere else, including your own blog
  • Run to about 1,200 words or more, with headings, code blocks and screenshots where they help
  • Be tested: commands, code and settings should work on current versions
  • Include a short author bio with one link to your site or profile
  • Use AI tools only as an aid; the experience and final words must be yours

We won’t publish

  • Posts written mainly to place links, or with links in the body to your own products
  • Product promotion dressed up as a tutorial
  • Copied, spun or unedited AI-generated content

Want to feature your product? That’s a sponsored post. See advertising options.

How it works

From pitch to published

Start with a pitch, not a finished article. It saves you writing something we can’t use.

  1. 01PitchSend a title and a short outline with the form below. No full draft needed yet.
  2. 02ReviewWe check that the topic fits and isn’t already covered, then reply with feedback.
  3. 03WriteYou write the full post in a Google Doc and share it with edit access.
  4. 04Edit and publishWe edit for clarity and style, agree changes with you, publish it and send you the link.

FAQ

Questions from writers.

Do I get a link to my site?

Yes, one link in your author bio. Links in the article itself are only added when they help the reader, such as documentation or a tool you use in the steps.

Can I send a finished article?

You can add a link to it in the form, but we decide on the pitch first. A short outline is enough to get started.

Will you change my post?

We edit for clarity, accuracy and our house style, and may update it later to keep it current. We agree bigger changes with you before publishing.

What if my pitch isn’t a fit?

We’ll tell you, and often suggest an angle that would work better. You are welcome to pitch again.
