When and where does a JavaScript program execute, as opposed to a PHP program?

Server-side code such as PHP or JSP code runs on the web server before the page is sent to the user’s browser. Server-side code helps to create the page and keep the text into it. But JavaScript code runs inside the user’s browser when the page arrives and is displayed. JavaScript allows you to make page behave interactively without having to send any information back to the web server.

PHP runs on web server before a page is sent to the user. JavaScript code runs on the user’s computer in the web-browser after the page arrives.
